Hydrogen

A major focus of our specialization is on the entire value chain surrounding (green) hydrogen.
The smallest molecule offers numerous possible applications. Therefore, our business relationships extend into a wide variety of industries, business areas and functional areas.


To name just a few:

Hydrogen production
Depending on the application, various factors determine whether alkaline electrolysis (AEL), electrolysis using a proton exchange membrane (PEM) or via high temperature (HTEL) leads to the optimal and most efficient result.
In recent years, we have been able to help several companies involved in the development and construction of electrolyzers to achieve success in their personnel growth strategy.
This, in turn, is in very niche functional areas in which real experts are sought, for example within stack design, the deionization of water or the development of catalyst-coated membranes.
But also in holistic areas of responsibility, e.g. in business development, organizational development or management up to the C-suite.

 

Hydrogen use
Hydrogen presents numerous opportunities as well as challenges.
Depending on the application, this concerns the drying, storage and liquefaction of the molecule.
In the context of the use of hydrogen, we are working with companies that are dedicated to the infrastructure of a hydrogen filling station network.
The same applies to companies that operate test and inspection benches or build them as special systems on behalf of customers.

Did you know that the term is actually misleading or factually incorrect?
Energy is never renewable. Our brief observation only makes it seem that way.
Rather, we should talk about sustainable energy from wind, water or solar power, which we then convert.

Energy network


What will the energy network of the future look like?
If we focus on energy generation, it should ideally be obtained and converted from the energy sources mentioned above.
Close to the ideal, sustainable energy parks rely on the combination of wind, solar or hydroelectric power plants with combined heat and power and hydrogen electrolyzers.
Peak energy production is used to produce hydrogen.
This can subsequently be used in numerous applications and/or as a base load backup for periods of calm using modern PEM fuel cells as storage.
The heat generated as a by-product of energy conversion is then fed into the heating network.
However, it will still take several years / decades until the transformation process of the energy grid is completed.

That is why we and our clients dedicate ourselves every day to the task of contributing to the transformation.

Biogas

Biogas plants produce biogas through the fermentation of various substrates (biomass products). This is used either to generate electricity and/or heat using combined heat and power plants.
Another noticeably growing trend is the processing of biogas into biomethane, which can be fed directly into the natural gas network.

Another application market for biogas plants could be the steam reformation of biogas into hydrogen.

In particular, biogas plants that currently only generate electricity are at risk of becoming uneconomical in the medium term due to the expiration of the statutory remuneration and funding period. New applications can counteract this and thus represent a practical solution for the future, both economically and in terms of energy policy.
